Vehicle lighting

Your car must have all mandatory lighting in good working order: side lights, dipped beam, full beam, rear lights, brake lights, indicators, number-plate light and at least one rear fog light. Lighting must be white or yellow at the front and red at the rear; indicators are amber. A broken light is not only dangerous but also a punishable offence and a failure point in the APK inspection. Example/check: before a long trip walk around the car and have someone check the brake lights and indicators, or use a wall or shop window as a mirror. Replace a faulty bulb immediately — driving with only one working rear light makes you hard for others to judge at night. Keep the lights and reflectors clean; dirt and snow greatly reduce light output.
