Driving on slippery roads
On slippery roads stopping distances can be up to 10 times longer than normal. Brake early and gradually. Accelerate gently in a higher gear to prevent wheel spin. Maintain a much greater following distance. If the rear slides: steer in the direction of the slide and release the accelerator. For understeer: release the accelerator and slightly straighten the steering. Black ice is invisible and extremely dangerous.
