Tyre pressure and consumption
Correctly inflated tyres reduce rolling resistance, which lowers fuel consumption. For every 0.5 bar of under-inflation fuel consumption increases by approximately 2%. Always check tyre pressure with cold tyres — after a maximum of 2 km of driving or before departure. Incorrect tyre pressure not only increases consumption but also tyre wear and reduces road holding.
